2. Forget the Anti-Bacterial Hand Soap: A common ingredient in antibacterial soap that kills microbes is triclosan. This ends up in our water sources and at specific levels is acutely and chronically toxic to aquatic life.

3. Going Green at Home. Start Using the Dishwasher: The average energy-efficient dishwasher uses just four gallons of water per cycle. According to the Environmental Protection Agency, using the dishwasher saves nearly 5,000 gallons of water per year compared with hand washing.

4. Hire an Eco-Friendly Janitorial Service: A service that uses only biodegradable and non-toxic cleaners.

5. Reuse Products: Reuse newspaper, boxes, shipping "peanuts," and "bubble wrap" to ship packages.

6. Recycle Automotive Products: Take car batteries, antifreeze, and motor oil to participating recycling centers.

7. Buy Products Made From Recycled Material: Many bottles, cans, cereal boxes, containers, and cartons are made from recycled material.

8. Select Reusable Products: Sturdy, washable utensils, tableware, cloth napkins, and dishcloths can be used many times.

9. Use Durable Products: Choose furniture, sports equipment, toys, and tools that will stand the test of time.

10. Bring Your Own Bag When Shopping: A good reusable bag can take the place of hundreds or maybe even thousands of paper or plastic bags over a lifetime.

11. Reduce Your Packaging: Buy bulk or concentrated products when you can.

12. Reduce Toxicity or Learn How: Recycle your batteries and use batteries with reduced mercury.

I've been using Shaklee products for about 20 years now. I like the vitamins best because I've found nothing in the stores to compare with them. They are why I first came to a Shaklee meeting and joined with June of Ecology Enterprises.

I like many of the other Shaklee products too. I use the cleaners and laundry products because I have allergies and have not found anything in the stores that do not make me itch all the time. Shaklee has the only products I've found that don't make me itch.

My kids use Shaklee's toothpaste for about 20 years now and the dentist can not believe the good condition of their teeth. I had one dentist try to give me a sample of fluoride toothpaste and I told him my kids don't use fluoride toothpaste. He told me to keep using what I've been using because he hadn't seen teeth that healthy for a long time.

I just had a checkup with the dentist and after 25 years of not going to the dentist, I had no cavities and according to the dentist, my teeth are in excellent shape.
