Naturopathic DocDoes This Doctor Rock Too?
Dr. Ehrlich is a Naturopathic Physician who is extremely knowledgeable in the field of clinical nutrition, herbal medicine, the holistic approach, and only prescribes medicine when necessary. He has studied natural medicine internationally and taught clinical applications of Natural Medicine to both naturopathic and conventional medical students. The unique thing about him is his focus on finding the underlying cause of the problem and providing real solutions. Dr. Ehrlich spoke to a group in Glendale, AZ Jan. 17, 2008. His talk took place at Lewis and Jane’s place of business. Jane spoke first about her medical disorder, Stiles disease. She described the many doctors she saw before getting the diagnosis and her long journey trying to find a solution. She had no energy. Finally, she turned to holistic medicine and she explained briefly that Dr. Ehrlich healed her. Jane then introduced Dr. Ehrlich. Dr. Ehrlich started his talk by defining the word doctor which comes from the word docere, which means to teach. He was there to teach us. He then spoke about auto-immune disorders such as Fibromyalgia, Lupus, MS. He discussed the causes of these disorders from a cellular level and spoke about the many natural solutions to restore health and well being. He talked about abnormal mucosal immunity which leads to leaky gut syndrome. When this happens over a period of time, the antigens enter into circulation. The production of IgG antibodies goes in to circulation then antigen/antibody complexes mistake Self for Non-self. (the body attacks itself) This leads to autoimmune disease. He used an interesting example of a person with psoriasis. Dr. Ehrlich made the connection between psoriasis and inflammation in the gut. These conditions can lead to allergies and then eventually, affect the mind like ADD, ADHD (Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder), or related disorders. So now this person has 3 things to deal with and it all originated in the gut! His solutions were to identify and eliminate food allergies then optimize digestion. You must build an anti-inflammatory body! He talked about the difference between omega 3 and omega 6 oils. Omega 6 is found in most fast foods, snack foods, soybean oil and foods you are better off avoiding. The good oil – omega 3 – can be found in flaxseed oil but it can breakdown very quickly. One big snort full of exhaust for example, can wipe out most of the benefits of a day’s ingestion of flax. Omega 3 oils from fish are more stable. He presented a product that has a full spectrum of seven Omega-3s including DHA and EPA. This promotes cardiovascular health. See the Ecology Enterprises link below for more information. He also talked about the importance of introducing probiotics to your diet. Probiotic means life. He pointed out another product that has bifidus and acidophilus, the good bacteria. This particular product doesn’t release into the small intestines until it gets there!

Dr. Ehrlich suggested not wasting your “$2 on a jar of hundreds & hundreds of Costco vitamins.”His last two points for an action plan for healing autoimmune disorders are: energetic intervention (example - acupuncture) and mental/emotional/spiritual- healing.
